III.2 Signal Output

The signal output option includes parallel printer interface and analog voltage using a 25 pin, Type

D (male) connector (Brookfield Part No. KU-1C) as follows:

0 - 5 Volt DC Analog Voltage:

Gram output: 4 mV/gram

KU output: 20 mV/KU

Range, KU: 0 - 144

Range, gm: 0 - 1,095

Resolution, KU: 1

Resolution, gm: 5

Interface pin outs: pin 18 voltage

pin 19 ground (earth)

The printer will print the Krebs Units or grams depending on the position of the selector switch (e.g. “96

KU” or “745 gm”). A series of dashes (“- - - KU”) indicates an overrange condition.

The output connector is located on the left side of the viscometer cover.

III.3 Paste Spindle

The paste spindle is similar to the Krebs paddle-type spindle. The design consists

of offset rod-type vanes, approximately 2 mm diameter x 19 mm long. This

spindle is suitable for use with high consistency materials such as roller mill

pastes. Do not use this spindle to report normal Krebs Unit measurements.
